CLAIMS: Claims Stories

Pastor Praises Prompt Response

Carbondale Assembly of God, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was one of the buildings devastated in May 1999 in one of the deadliest series of tornadoes in U.S. history. The damage was estimated in the neighborhood of $3.5 million.

Brotherhood Mutual® sent the church a check within a few days of the storm to help with immediate expenses. Shortly after, claims adjuster Kim Lengacher arrived on the scene to give further help. The congregation built a new, larger facility that it began using in January 2001. And on the second anniversary of the tornado, Pastor Phil Taylor was still grateful for our response.

In a letter to Brotherhood Mutual CEO James A. Blum, Pastor Taylor wrote, "I have heard some of the horror stories from pastors who have suffered at the hands of their insurance carriers. I am so pleased to tell others of the quality of care we received from Brotherhood Mutual. You helped us and supported us through one of the most difficult and trying times in our history and we are indeed grateful. We look forward to a long and continuing partnership with Brotherhood Mutual."
