Brotherhood Mutual Among Indiana's Best Places to Work

INDIANAPOLIS, IND., February 26, 2008—The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has named Brotherhood Mutual one of the best places to work in Indiana.

“I’m extremely excited and proud of our company,” said Kathleen Turpin, vice president of human resources. “I’m ecstatic that we get to share with the rest of the state who we are.”

The program, now in its third year, designated 66 companies as a "Best Place to Work in Indiana" for their ability to create a strong workplace culture in which employees feel valued. Rankings were determined by employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys. Brotherhood Mutual competed against other companies in the small- to medium-sized category (25 to 249 employees). More than 120 companies of all sizes entered this year's competition. The chamber will release its official rankings May 7.

Award Brings State Recognition

Being named a finalist gives Brotherhood Mutual good statewide exposure, said Mark Robison, Brotherhood Mutual's president and CEO. “Not only are we in the state of Indiana, but we’re one of the best,” Robison said.

As our company concluded its 90th anniversary year, the leadership team felt that participating in the Indiana Chamber of Commerce competition would offer a good opportunity to publicize Brotherhood Mutual to the state's workforce, Turpin said.

Company Recognized in 2006

This is the second time in two years that our company has been recognized as an attractive place to work. In 2006, we were among the top five places to work in Northeast Indiana. The regional contest recognized Brotherhood Mutual as being No. 1 in “corporate culture.”
