Each Shoebox Goes a Long Way
Brotherhood Mutual employees participate in Operation Christmas Child
With the help of Brotherhood Mutual employees, 228 shoeboxes filled with gifts will soon be making their way to children in need.
Brotherhood Mutual was proud to participate in Operation Christmas Child (OCC) this season by encouraging employees to fill a shoebox (or two!) to send to a child in need. The company paid for the shipping costs for each box, which individual employees filled with dolls, crayons, toy cars, and other toys or personal care items.
Operation Christmas Child uses simple shoebox gifts to share God’s love with children who are underprivileged or live in hardship all around the world. Many of these children have never had a gift before.
OCC’s care extends beyond a gift-filled box, however. OCC includes a Christian message in each box—written in the child’s local language. Children and their families are also invited to attend classes to hear more about the gospel.
Since many people who accept Christ do so as a child, reaching out to children around the world is important. Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian relief and evangelism organization led by Franklin Graham, organizes Operation Christmas Child.
