Brotherhood Mutual Honored as a Top Performer
Company named on Ward's 50 Top Performing Insurance Companies
Fort Wayne, Ind., Aug. 6, 2009—On the heels of being named one of the top places to work in Indiana earlier this spring, Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company was recently named to Ward’s 50 Top Performing Insurance Companies list for 2009.
Each year, Ward Group (an operational consulting firm and leading provider of benchmarking and best practices services to the insurance industry) analyzes the financial performance of 3,100 property-casualty insurance companies and 800 life-health insurance companies and identifies the top performers in each segment. Each company must pass safety and consistency screens and achieve superior performance over the five years analyzed. The Ward’s 50 property-casualty group of insurance companies produced a 14.4% return on average equity from 2004 to 2008 compared to 9.9% for the property-casualty industry overall.
"Brotherhood Mutual’s appearance on Ward’s 50 top performing insurance companies is an honor,” says Mark Robison, company chairman and president. “We have been recognized as an industry leader.”
Earlier this year, Brotherhood Mutual ranked 10th on the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s “Best Places to Work in Indiana” list. The program, now in its fourth year, designated 70 companies as a "Best Place to Work in Indiana" for their ability to create a strong workplace culture in which employees feel valued. Rankings were determined by employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys.
