Excess Liability
Courts have been known to award damages in the millions of dollars in liability cases, even if the organization involved is a church or related ministry. To address this trend, MinistryFirst® offers optional excess coverage to provide an "umbrella" of protection over three of your primary liability coverages. This optional coverage extends the limits provided in the primary general liablity, vehicle liability, and employers' liability coverages:
$1 million-$5million limits are common. Higher limits generally available. Subject to any coverage restrictions indicated in your excess coverage form and the underlying coverage, the excess liability protection extends the limits and coverages of each of the policies indicated below:
- General liability
$1 million per occurrence/$3 million aggregate bodily injury and property damage limits are common in this primary protection. - Vehicle liability
$1 million combined bodily injury and property damage limits per accident are common in this primary protection. - Employers' liability
$100,000 bodily injury by accident; $100,000 bodily injury by disease; and $500,000 bodily injury by disease aggregate limits are common in this primary protection.
