Any accidental death benefit is paid to the estate of the deceased traveler.
- Common carrier accidental death
(Limits: $50,000 per adult, $25,000 per child under age 18; $250,000 maximum per family)This coverage protects your organization's employees and volunteers against the accidental loss of life while traveling as a passenger on a common air carrier's flight. Death must occur during the period of coverage while the insured person is riding as a passenger (but not a pilot, operator, or member of the crew) in or on a common air carrier.
- Emergency medical evacuation
(Limit: $300,000 in addition to the medical expense limit chosen.)If our foreign travel service provider determines that adequate medical facilities are not available locally at the site of your mission activity, we will arrange and pay for one emergency medical evacuation, under medical supervision if necessary, to the nearest location with adequate facilities.
If our foreign travel service provider determines (based on information available to it and its consulting physicians) that it is medically necessary to repatriate the injured person to a facility in the United States-following stabilization, we will arrange and pay for one repatriation, under medical supervision if necessary.
- Medical emergency family reunion
( See actual policy forms for coverage and service details)When emergency medical evacuation or repatriation is ordered and the attending physician recommends that a family member travel with you (the program will arrange and pay) up to $10,000, for round trip, economy-class transportation for one individual of your choice, from your home country, to be at your side while you are hospitalized and then accompany you during your return to your home country.
- Return of minor children
(A $5,000 limit is provided.)If you are traveling alone with minor children and are hospitalized because of a covered illness or injury, leaving children under age 19 unattended, the program will pay up to $5,000 for one-way economy fare to return the children to their home country. This includes the cost of an escort, if needed, to ensure their safety and welfare. If this benefit is needed, arrangements must be made by the travel assistance provider.
- Repatriation of mortal remains
(A $20,000 limit is provided.)In the event of a participant's death while in foreign territory, through our foreign travel service provider we will make every effort possible to obtain necessary clearances and arrange for the return of the mortal remains:
- Return will be to a location that honors the known reasonable wishes of the deceased or the deceased's family members.
- We will pay reasonable expenses associated with such return, including the cost of embalming to meet any applicable requirements, up to a maximum of $20,000 per person.
- Hospital indemnity
(A $100-per-night limit is provided.)If you are hospitalized while traveling outside of the United States or Canada, and the hospitalization is considered a Covered Expense, the program will indemnify you $100 for each night spent in the hospital (this benefit is in addition to any other covered expenses of the program).
- Local ambulance expense
(A $2,500 limit is provided.)Ground ambulance (within the metropolitan area) to and from the nearest hospital with facilities for required treatment. If the insured person is in a rural area, then licensed ground ambulance transportation to the nearest metropolitan area shall be considered a covered expense.
- Emergency dental
