Passport to Ministry | Option 3*
This option provides ministry workers with trip cancellation/interruption coverage, lost baggage coverage, and a basic medical package.

- Medical expenses: accident and sickness with hospital admission guarantee
(A $50,000 limit per person is provided)This benefit protects your travelers against medical expenses resulting from an accident or travel-related sickness during your foreign religious operations.
A $250 deductible applies to sickness-related medical expenses. No deductible applies to medical expenses related to an accident. This benefit is coordinated with, and pays after, any other primary medical coverage available to the employee or volunteer participant.
Hospital Admission Guarantee: Advance payment to a hospital if needed to secure your admission.
- Accidental death and dismemberment
(A separate $10,000 per-person coverage limit applies.)Protects your organization's employees and volunteers against the accidental loss of life, loss of a hand or foot, or the loss of sight in one or both eyes.
- Common carrier accidental death
(Limit: $25,000)This coverage protects your organization's employees and volunteers against the accidental loss of life while traveling as a passenger on a common air carrier's flight. Death must occur during the period of coverage while the insured person is riding as a passenger (but not a pilot, operator, or member of the crew) in or on a common air carrier.
- Emergency medical evacuation, repatriation, emergency family reunion, return of minor children, and return of mortal remains
(A $250,000 limit per person is provided) - Emergency medical evacuation/repatriation. If an injury or sickness occurs during your trip you'll receive benefits up to the policy limit for medical evacuation or medically necessary repatriation to your home or a hospital near your home for continued treatment when your condition is acute or life threatening and adequate treatment is not available at a local hospital.
- Medical emergency family reunion. Transportation will be provided for a person of your choice to visit you if you are traveling alone and are confined to a hospital for more than seven consecutive days. Any use of this benefit must be pre-approved and arranged by the authorized assistance company. Note: Pre-existing condition limitations are waived for medical evacuation/repatriation.
- Return of minor children. Benefits also include transportation for the return trip home for your dependent children under age 18 who are accompanying you and are left unattended if you are confined to a hospital for more than seven consecutive days.
- Return of mortal remains. In the event of a participant's death while in foreign territory, through our foreign travel service provider we will make every effort to obtain necessary clearances and arrange for the return of the mortal remains.
- Return will be to a location that honors the known reasonable wishes of the deceased or the deceased's family members.
- We will pay reasonable expenses associated with such return, including the cost of embalming to meet any applicable requirements.
- Medical assistance services
Upon enrollment, you are eligible to use any of the assistance services provided by the assistance services provider. Features of the service include: being open 24 hours/day, 365 days a year; multilingual personnel; and physicians/nurses on staff. These services include: - Inoculation information service

(Limit options of $100,000 or $300,000 are available.)These benefits apply to the amount purchased for accidental death, dismemberment or loss of sight as a result of an accident while a passenger on a regularly scheduled air flight, a land or water conveyance provided by the airline as a substitute for an aircraft, a common carrier while en route to or from the airport, or at the airport immediately before boarding or after disembarking from an aircraft.
- Trip cancellation
(A $20,000 limit is provided.)This benefit protects you should you have to cancel your trip after the effective date of your plan* for any of the following reasons:
- Specified sickness, injury or death of you, your traveling companion, business partner, or family member of either you or your traveling companion.
- Termination or layoff from a job you have held for at least three continuous years.
- Terrorism in a city listed on your itinerary within 30 days prior to your scheduled departure date (the same city must not have experienced a terrorist incident within 90 days prior to the incident causing your cancellation).
- Hijack, quarantine, jury duty, or court-order, appearance as a witness in legal action.
- Your primary residence is rendered uninhabitable due to unforeseen circumstances.
- You or your traveling companion is called to emergency military duty for a national disaster other than war.
- Your primary residence or your traveling companion’s is burglarized within 10 days of your departure date or during your trip.
- You or your traveling companion is a victim of a felony assault within 10 days of your departure date.
- You are involved in a traffic accident on your way to a scheduled departure point.
- Weather causes complete cessation of services of your common carrier for at least 48 consecutive hours.
- A strike causes complete cessation of services of your common carrier for at least 48 consecutive hours.
- Bankruptcy or default of an airline, cruise line or tour operator (other than a travel agent or travel supplier from whom you purchase your travel arrangements).
- Trip interruption
(A limit of 150 percent of the trip expense, up to $20,000, is provided.)If you are prevented from completing a trip for any of the above reasons after the effective date of your plan or during your trip, you will receive up to the amount purchased for:
- Any unused, non-refundable prepaid expense for travel arrangements.
- One-way economy fare to return to your original destination or rejoin your trip less the value of the unused travel ticket.
- Accommodations and transportation expenses up to $150 per day for 10 additional days when your traveling companion is hospitalized, ill or suffers an injury that prevents you from traveling and causes you to extend your trip.
- Single supplement upgrade—you will receive benefits when your traveling companion cancels or interrupts a trip for a specified reason and you do not.
- Trip delay, missed connection
(A $500 limit is provided.)If you are delayed for three hours or more for one of the reasons listed below, you are covered for the additional transportation cost to rejoin your trip or return home and/or for the unused non-refundable expenses for your covered trip:
- Delay of common carrier
- A traffic accident in which you were not directly involved
- Inclement weather
- Quarantine, hijacking or strike
- Lost or stolen passports, travel documents or money
- Natural disaster, terrorism or riot
- Lost baggage/personal effects coverage
You would be eligible for benefits up to the benefit amount for lost, stolen, or damaged baggage or personal items subject to a maximum reimbursement of up to $300 per article. A maximum of $1,000 applies to the total amount payable for loss of any or all of the following: jewelry, watches, articles consisting in whole or in part of silver, gold or platinum, articles trimmed with fur, cameras and their accessories, and related equipment.In addition, the following reimbursements are included in this benefit:
- Lost or stolen passport or visa ($50 maximum).
- Lost or stolen credit cards (cost associated with the unauthorized use-$50 maximum subject to verification that you have complied with all conditions of the credit card company).
- The actual cash value (cost less proper deduction for depreciation) at the time of loss, theft or damage;
- The cost to repair or replace the article with material of a like kind and quality; or
- $300 per article. This benefit does not apply to losses on property specifically scheduled under other insurance.
- Baggage delay
(A $200 limit is provided.)If your checked baggage is delayed or misdirected while on your trip for more than 24 hours from your time of arrival at your destination other than your residence by a common air carrier, you are covered for the expense of necessary purchases of personal items up to the maximum benefit amount as long as the expense is substantiated by receipts for purchases. Common air carrier must certify the delay.
