Sawyers

March 1, 2021: Full Strength Network has named Marty Sawyers as its new president and chief executive officer. Sawyers will begin his new duties in early March.

Founder and former president and chief executive officer Hugh White will remain on the leadership team as he transitions toward retirement this year.

Since its launch in the fall of 2017, Hugh White and the Full Strength Network team have been busy growing the national nonprofit to meet the needs of pastors and their families. Full Strength Network, based in Fort Wayne, IN, connects pastors and ministry leaders across the U.S. with resources to monitor their wellbeing, keep balance in their lives, and prevent burnout. Some of the nonprofit’s accomplishments include growing its pastoral care network to more than 400 professional caregivers and coaches, developing Pastorwell® — a wellbeing program, and launching MinistryPulse™ — a free mindfulness app.

“Hugh White took on a major endeavor in developing and then launching Full Strength Network. This was a passion project for him. He will continue to provide Marty and the staff with insight he has gained from more than 31 years in leadership at Brotherhood Mutual and then the past four at Full Strength Network,” said Mark Robison, who serves on the board of directors for Full Strength Network. Robison also is chairman and president of Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company. The ministry-focused national property and casualty insurance company, through its foundation, provided the seed money for the start-up of Full Strength Network as part of the company’s 100 year anniversary and has given a corporate gift annually since then.

“When we learned Hugh was planning to retire, our search led us to Marty Sawyers. You could not ask for a better candidate. Marty was so excited about this position that he literally began working during his interview,” said Robison. “Because of his experience as an executive pastor, Marty knows the important role healthy pastors and ministry leaders play in our society. His extensive leadership in guiding teams and in donor development, along with his strategic planning skills are a perfect complement to the mission of Full Strength Network. We believe his strong leadership will continue to grow the reach of Full Strength Network as its staff, volunteers, and network of caregivers serve ministry leaders across the nation.”

Sawyers’ prior executive leadership experience includes serving for the past 10 years as the Executive Pastor at Cornerstone Church in Chandler, Arizona. He also serves on the board of directors for Valley Christian Schools in Chandler, Arizona. He has an MBA in Finance from Grand Canyon University and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

“I am elated to be joining the Full Strength Network team,” said Sawyers. “I believe God has uniquely positioned us as an organization to provide for the wellbeing of pastors and ministry leaders. I want to see every church leader thriving and flourishing, and I’m excited to lead the team at Full Strength Network to accomplish that vision. I’m confident that, through our unique PastorWell® program, we’re going to impact hundreds of thousands of people by taking care of their pastors and church leaders. Healthy pastors lead healthy churches and healthy churches change the world.”
