Message from the Chairman and President

We find ourselves in unprecedented times.

You may have said that recently. In our efforts to make sense of how COVID-19 is affecting every aspect of our lives, unprecedented seems to be the most fitting description for this historic moment.

Like you, we are doing things a bit differently. Most of our employees are working remotely from home, and for those essential staff who must be in the office, we’ve implemented rigorous safeguards to keep them protected. Rest assured, we’re fully engaged, fully capable of serving you, and operating at full capacity.

During these challenging days, we join you in trusting that God will faithfully see you through. If you have questions, are experiencing hardship, or need someone to help you bounce around ideas, we want to help:

  • Reach out directly by calling Customer Service at 1-800-380-5474.
  • Find relevant resources at brotherhoodmutual.com/coronavirus, including prevention and planning guidance and solutions for ministry-specific challenges. We’re adding new resources almost daily.
  • Many states have mandated or recommended businesses offer payment extensions to respond to hardship requests. If you’re facing a financial challenge, contact Customer Service to discuss premium payment options.
  • Your agent also is a valuable community resource. Lean on him or her with questions.
  • Our legal team specializes in helping ministries answer tough questions. See if their guidance can help you at brotherhoodmutual.com/legalassist.
  • If you’re looking for new ways to continue your ministry presence online, including online giving, podcasts, or live broadcasts, we can help put you in touch with those who can offer expertise.

Ministries across the country are seizing this moment, using it as an opportunity to show the love of Christ in spectacular ways. Here are just a few of the many stories that have inspired us, and we hope will inspire you:

  • Volunteers from a church in Georgia run errands for those with weakened immunity.
  • A Texas church’s volunteers make sandwiches for the homeless.
  • Volunteers serving a California church call those who are in isolation due to a positive COVID-19 test and offer words of encouragement.

We are excited to witness the way the Lord innovates in the midst of a crisis. Be safe. Be well. We are praying for you.

Mark Robison
