FORT WAYNE, IND., July 29, 2015: Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company is pleased to announce that Karen L. Himle, vice president of corporate affairs at Thrivent Financial, has joined its board of directors.
Himle brings more than 25 years of board experience to her role at Brotherhood Mutual. She currently serves on the board of directors for HMN Financial, Inc., in Rochester, Minnesota, the University of Nebraska Foundation Board, and a number of non-profit organizations.
In her role at Thrivent Financial, Himle oversees corporate communications, government relations, community relations, and church engagement. The Fortune 500 financial services organization serves about 2.4 million members from its headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Appleton, Wisconsin.
Before joining Thrivent, Himle taught corporate ethics at the University of St. Thomas School of Law and held vice presidential posts at an executive recruiting firm and the University of Minnesota.
“Karen’s analytical and interpersonal skills, as well as her ability to see issues in their larger context, make her a great addition to the team,” says Mark Robison, Brotherhood Mutual president and chairman of the board. “She’s driven to produce results, and she shares our passion for ministry.”
Elected July 28, Himle assumes a vacancy created when Pamela J. Moret, a former executive vice president at Thrivent Financial, retired from the board in February 2015 after serving three years.
