Assistant Vice President Underwriting Operations

Erica Smith has been in her current role since 2024 and is responsible for underwriting operations including risk control services, estimating, underwriting services, and data and quality services.
 
She joined the company in 2022 as an underwriting manager before becoming director of underwriting product quality and development. Prior to joining Brotherhood Mutual, she spent 11 years with Shelter Insurance Companies.

Erica holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Southwest Baptist University. She has earned several professional designations including CPA, CPCU, and BIDA. Erica serves on the NAMIC Commercial and Personal Lines Committee and actively engages with Brotherhood Mutual's co-mission teams. She attends Pathway Community Church and serves in their financial ministry.
