Brotherhood Mutual Customers to Receive a Premium Credit

Serving the Church is more important than ever during this unique time in history. That’s why we’re taking steps to help ministries as they continue to adjust to a new normal that includes finding creative ways to keep people connected to each other and the gospel.

We’re helping customers across the nation by applying a 15% credit on two months of liability premium on their Brotherhood Mutual Auto and Commercial Multi-Peril policies in effect on April 15, 2020.

The credit will be applied as we receive approval from each state. Customers will not have to do anything to receive the credit. It will be automatically applied to your policy when your state’s approval comes through.

Giving a credit back is the right thing to do because it reflects the temporary shift that has happened during this time of COVID-19. With shelter in place orders and guidelines that limit gathering – there are fewer drivers on the road and fewer people on ministries’ property, which means fewer accidents and fewer liability claims.

Customer FAQs

Who will receive the premium credit?
A credit of 15% on two months of liability premium will be applied on Brotherhood Mutual Auto policies and Commercial Multi-Peril policies that are in effect as of April 15, 2020.

Why was this premium credit initiated?
We are doing this because it is the right thing to do for our customers during this time of COVID-19. A few states are beginning to encourage and even mandate credits or refunds. We decided to proactively apply this for customers in all states. With fewer accidents and liability claims being filed because people are driving less and fewer people are on ministry property, it’s an opportunity to pass some of that savings on to our customers.

Do current customers need to apply for the premium credit?
No. Customers do not need to do anything. When the state gives approval, we will apply the credit automatically for two months of liability premium on Brotherhood Mutual Auto policies and Commercial Multi-Peril policies that are in effect as of April 15, 2020.

How will customers know when the credit is applied?
As each state gives approval, we will apply the credit for customers in those states, and then each customer will receive a letter that includes the amount automatically applied to the liability premium.

Will this impact future rates for my ministry’s policies?
No. Because of the COVID-19 shelter in and limited gathering guidance provided in most states, this credit is based on a decrease in the number of drivers on the road and people on ministry property – which means fewer accidents and liability claims. The funds are not connected to rates and will not result in a rate change.
